Knowledge Management

So what is KM ? - Knowledge Management can be compared to the Industrial Revolution, where the work shifted from manual labour to machinery based processes leading to an explosive rise in production and new technologies. In the same way, KM drives the shift from the manual generation of information (paperwork, which is still common today) to complete electronic processing (with the ability to effectively use and apply information). This KM revolution leads to faster rates of producing knowledge assets, and new technologies for adapting knowledge faster.

Within any organisation there is information known by one or two individuals which would be of benefit to all.

The aim of a KM system is to provide an easy to use framework to capture, sort and present that information to the benefit of the business.
The centralised storage of procedures, documents and business information makes all the business processes flow more efficiently.

By gaining easier access to business knowledge staff can gain greater understanding of how they fit into the overall process.

The KM system can be set to identify subject area experts to act as mentors for less experienced staff, quickly providing advice when problems arise.

Teams can be established within the business using customised communications systems, allowing electronic discussions, on-line meetings and shared contact information.

Use of an effective KM system is becoming one of the key business advantages within major corporate organisations, and with a modest investment SME clients can gain great benefits from this new business enhancing technology.

Microsoft have released new development tools to Certified Partners to enable the swift development of Knowledge Management (KM) IT systems for the organisation of business information.

We have developed strategies to enable our SME clients to take advantage of this major new capability currently being installed by government and major corporates throughout the world.

Our KM solutions are based on extended MS Exchange messaging, SQL Server datastores and an Intranet built with Internet Information Server. As a result our SME clients using Small Business Server can take immediate advantage of this new technology to organise information flow within their business.
