NetGear Internet Firewalls
NetGear produce fully accredited Firewall products, which inspect every data packet passing through them, which allows them to detect hackers manipulating the normal network system (denial of service attack). They also produce protected routers which, by severely limiting internal access, provide a slightly less configurable solution at a lower price.
We recommend using a full Firewall product on any network for which there is a business requirement for computers outside the network to connect into the system via the Internet. The ability for a computer outside your network to securely connect via the Internet uses a technology called Virtual Private Networking (VPN) and one of the NetGear firewalls has a standard IPSEC (Internet Security Protocol) VPN server built in.
